Springboard to New Markets
"Wherever we go in Eastern Europe, the Austrians are already there," a top German bank manager confessed at the end of 2006 to the "Wirtschaftsblatt" business daily. It is a fact that Austria has been a role model in exploiting the business opportunities arising from EU enlargement.
The biggest beneficiary of this move eastwards has been the VIENNA REGION - in the pole position and centre of a market with close to 500 million people.
One reason is the VIENNA REGION's tradition of doing business in CEE, as well as its mental proximity to its neighbours.
In contrast to the saturated markets in the West, Eastern and Southeastern Europe's have room to grow. The region's GDP is expected to rise at a 5% rate in the years to come.
Air Travel Hub VIENNA REGION: A home to good connections: The most important gateway to Central and Eastern Europe is located in the VIENNA REGION - Vienna Airport, which links you to 47 CEE destinations. That is more than any other airport in the world - even more than Frankfurt.
