When it comes to luring talent, Vienna ranks 4th amongst the world`s top performing cities, according to the “Global Talent Competitiveness Index” (GTCI), published by Adecco Group, Insead University and Tata Communications.
This year`s report has put a strong emphasis on entrepreneurial spirit, which seems to be cultivated more likely in cities rather than countries due to their greater flexibility and ability to adapt to new trends and patterns.
Dynamic population developments, a stable economy, excellent infrastructure, a highly qualified workforce and quality of life were the decisive factors in the ranking`s decision making process. In due course of the GTCI ranking, 114 cities were evaluated for their qualities in the fields of research, internationality, attractiveness, development opportunities and the surrounding conditions. It is safe to assume that Vienna not only scored high due to its high quality of life, but also because of its favourable conditions for young, innovative workforce.
In recent years, Austria has constantly improved its position in the GTCI ranking: In 2016 Austria leaped forward from the 12th to the fifth position. This year, the region has managed to further expands its superior role in and entrepreneurial leadership.
