International Automotive Components Group (IAC) is planning to build a technology centre in Neutal in the Austrian province of Burgenland.
The newly founded subsidiary IAC Austria Forschungs- und EntwicklungsGmbH has bought a site with 52,000 square metres, according to a statement last week. Its future “IAC European Technology Centre” will focus on research & development and the production of interior systems and components. It will employ around 200 people and invest between €30m and 40m. The group is planning to start implementing the new project in about two years.
“This is one of the best locations which I have found so far - whether it was in the US, Canada, Austria or Munich. It took longer, but leaving today, I am even more convinced that we will quickly be successful here,” says IAC CEO Manfred Gingle.
IAC, headquartered in Luxembourg, is a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems. It employs around 22,000 people in more than 60 locations in 17 countries, according to the company website. In 2018, it posted estimated sales revenues of USD 4.1bn.
