Takeda to launch biologics manufacturing in Lower Austria

Biopharmaceutical company Takeda is expanding its operations in Austria with the launch of a modern drugs series in Orth on the Danube.
“We are very pleased to announce that Takeda is expanding its operations in Orth on the Danube and is looking for new employees. We are launching the production of modern biopharmaceutical drugs that are vital for people with haemophilia. In this context, we can draw on the vast experience which our company has in this area,” says Marian Bendik, Manager of the production plant in Orth on the Danube.
Takeda, is a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Japan. It has operations in Vienna, Linz and Orth on the Danube and with over 4,000 staff, it is one of the biggest employers in Austria’s pharmaceutical industry. Orth is well-known for the development of gene therapy drugs, which were already produced in low quantities for clinical studies. The drugs produced in Austria are exported worldwide.
