The region is home to no less than 18 universities, among them Vienna’s Technical University and the Danube University Krems, to 10 universities of applied sciences and to 7 teacher education colleges. Based on Statistik Austria, the total enrolment in the region: more than 210.000 students, and among them 29% international students.
